The media is especially full right now of disasters both man made and natural. As we head into Fall and the season of letting go; I like this reminder from Astrologer and teacher, David Pond:
Periodically the background buzz of Armageddon surfaces and these times are no exception with an inordinate number of people asking about their astrology and the coming collapse, disaster, “Armageddon”, they have been hearing about. A crisis of this magnitude is not anything I am picking up on my radar, but I would like to close with the story I remember of Ram Dass’s response to the question of did he see a coming Armageddon. The quote is from my memory of his reply:
“After giving this some thought, I asked myself what I would do if there were to be such a crisis? I would first center myself as best I could, and then look around and see where I could be helpful. And if there weren’t to be such a crisis, what would I do? I would first center myself as best I could and look around and see where I could be helpful. Realizing it is the same either way, the question becomes a non-issue.”
This just in from a new customer in North Carolina. So lovely to know that the Wisdom Cards are shining their light near and far! “There are so many things to love about this deck. There is a combination of inspiration and practicality which I think is fantastic. I love that the cards are their own guidebook. One side displays a beautiful photograph, title and keyword, and then a detailed message appears on the back of the card. I am very happy that the production of the deck was environmentally friendly. Finally, it was a pleasure to do business with Jane. She is a very conscientious and gracious seller. I recommend these cards and her shop very highly.” Don’t have your deck yet? Trees take me to a whole other level. Inspired by their beauty and humbled by their majesty, trees connect heaven to earth in hundreds of ways. I haven’t met all of the 400 Billion trees on this planet but I take comfort in their presence on this journey. Find out more about trees and their connection to another favorite fascination of mine: lightning! Read the latest E-greeting from A Clear Place.
Clearing out old stuff absolutely has its rewards. In the process of letting go, we can uncover surprising gifts. You just have to be open to the release. Read about the treasure I unearthed in my own backyard. Spring Gift Under the Junipers
Letting go and detaching from the outcome takes practice. But as with most worthwhile endeavors, the more you do it … the better you will feel in body, mind and spirit. Learn more about this month’s Focus Card and this featured place in nature. One of my favorite vistas and photos! See it up close.
Being grateful transforms our feelings of despair to ones of hope. We can go from a perspective of burden to bliss in an instant. This season of giving thanks seemed the perfect time to share my backyard alchemy experience – yet another example of the transforming magic of nature. We need only to still our busy-ness and observe the gifts around us to feel blessed. View more.
Spiders usually evoke an “Eek!” response especially when they make a surprise visit. Or you inadvertently walk into one of their webs. But as with all of nature, they also have much to teach us if we take time to observe. Click here to find out what spider had to share at my place yesterday.
Fun Fact: Did you know that all spiders can make silk but not all spin webs? They use the silk for a variety of purposes including protecting their young (spiderlings), catching prey and for shelter. Male spiders deposit their sperm into the silk and retrieve it later when they find a willing mate.
