My Feb Enews featured a shout out to Do Good shelters. The Portland agency continues to serve as a major source of housing and resources for the community. Here’s an update of their specific needs. Those of you in the PDX area, please keep them in mind as you clear out stuff or help friends/family clear theirs. Contact me with any questions and/or delivery help. Pants sizes 30 through 40

Backpacks/duffel bags
Used cell phones – working order, factory reset so all prior data is erased and no lock codes on them.
Home goods and furniture at limited capacity – lamps, artwork type of wall hangings for folks who are moving into permanent housing, things to make the transition cozier!

Feeling the Love

Clearing out your stuff is all about self-care. Creating a space that allows for ease of movement, quiet reflection, playtime and peace of mind is essential for wellbeing. As you look around your room/home, if you’re not smiling – start clearing. A little bit of letting go can do wonders for your outlook. It’s ok to start slowly. Begin with the room you spend the most time in and go from there. Reminder: Don’t feel guilty about getting rid of any items left behind by family. They would not want you to feel burdened. You deserve a home that you love and that loves you back. You’ll know it when you arrive there. Here’s to getting clear!

UntitledPrompted by next week’s workshop, Saying YES To Less (hosted by the Tualatin Public Library), the local Times did a nice feature on ACP. After the interview, I asked the reporter if he personally had experienced any issues with stuff. A young guy who recently went through a move, he admitted being surprised at how much he had accumulated in a short time and in finding things stored away that he had forgotten about. Yep. That’s a common tale. Dealing with stuff has no generation boundaries. It can get to the best of us … and bring out the worst in anyone. I love sharing the how to’s of getting and staying clear and the immediate relief it can bring to any space. And there’s no time like the present to start!  Read the Times.

WATER – the Element of Change

WATERThe element of Water is all about change and transformation. The ebb and flow of energy. The clearer your space, the easier it is to allow for a natural flow. We are bodies of water living on the water planet. It doesn’t get more connected than that. Water is life giving, healing and a master at shape shifting. Use that power to help with transitions and changes in your life. If you’ve had a loss, bring water energy into your space to help in the release process. A tabletop fountain, images of a river, fish, boats or the sea. Colors include shades of blues and greens. Accent with glass, shells, pearls. Hydrate yourself and your home by misting with an energy spray or a mix of water and lavender essential oil. Check your plumbing, clean drains and gutters. Release, clear out and let go. And allow for life to unfold in wonderful ways.

Corresponds to the season of Autumn, sunset and the direction of the West.

About this photo: Taken from a lookout point on the central Oregon coast. After a foggy morning, the mist cleared and the sun came out. The scene shifted from gray and black to blue and green within minutes. Magic.
